Friends of the fiddle,
I'm excited to be starting a new year of teaching. I have a few openings and welcome new families interested in learning about this wonderfully versatile instrument. If you’re looking to give your child the gift of music lessons, I would love to share my passion for playing and teaching the violin. Borrowing from both classical and fiddle traditions, I help students play with confidence and joy. If you’re interested in learning more, visit bjviolin.com/lessons and schedule a studio visit.
If you have a younger child and would like to test the waters of music lessons, consider my Violin Discovery Workshop Series. Designed for children 4-8 yrs old and parents, this workshop introduces your child to the violin, and the basic positions and movements involved in creating music. Using the classical, folk and popular string music, we will also cover the basic components of music: melody, harmony and rhythm. Great for families considering starting an instrument but not quite ready to commit to lessons. Families will help build a box violin that children can use during learning activities.
